Our Charity Mash-Up, sponsored by charity I.T. providers Qlic, returns for 2026. With Local Government Reorganisation already in progress, the introduction of a new single Integrated Care Board for Surrey and Sussex, the most challenging funding landscape to date and demand for services increasing, this year’s theme is ‘No Charity Left Behind’.
This year’s Mash-Up once again features a packed programme of inspiring speakers, informative presentations, workshops, a marketplace and lunch. Maddy Desforges CEO, NAVCA and Vic Hancock Fell, CEO Small Charity Leaders will be joining us as our keynote speakers.

Connect with Surrey’s community buildings management teams to share ideas, updates, support and good practice
This meeting provides a valuable opportunity to network with trustees, volunteers, managers, and committee members from community buildings across Surrey. Attendees can share experiences, discuss common challenges and successes, exchange ideas and good practice, and build connections with others involved in the management of village halls, church halls, community centres, and parish council facilities. It is a chance to learn from peers, develop new contacts, and strengthen Surrey’s community building network.
In addition to networking opportunities, attendees will hear from Norris & Fisher, who will be providing a presentation relevant to the management and operation of community buildings. We will also be joined by TJB, who will deliver a short presentation on funding opportunities and support available for village halls and other community buildings.
This is an excellent opportunity to ask questions, exchange experiences with peers, and gain practical knowledge from sector professionals and fellow community building representatives.
We look forward to bringing Surrey’s community building sector together to share experiences, ideas, and support one another in maintaining thriving community spaces.
In 2016, Surrey Community Action conducted a comprehensive assessment of the status of Surrey’s voluntary sector, which was used to inform the way the sector worked together and how it collaborated with statutory partners and other stakeholders. Since then such a lot has changed, from the impact of Brexit on care staffing, through Covid-19 lockdowns and financial crises, and now Local Government Reform and Devolution. A constant theme has been increased demand and complexity and reduced resources, but despite this, the sector has consistently provided incredible support to individuals and communities in Surrey and beyond.
At this critical juncture, we wanted to take some time to reflect on some of those changes, their impact, the challenges they have brought into sharp relief, and also the opportunities that are there for the taking to ensure a more capable, efficient and sustainable voluntary sector.
Working with the Centre for Britain and Europe has allowed us to take the pulse of the sector with a lens that is intelligent, inquisitive, rigorous and independent; a critical friend holding a mirror up to ourselves.
The report offers practical recommendations for commissioners, funders, and VCSE leaders to strengthen outcomes, reduce friction in procurement, and focus investment where it will have the greatest impact – come along to our free event on Thursday 26 March in Woking to find out more.
Our Warmth Matters project aims to tackle fuel poverty across Surrey by providing energy advice and assistance, from helping families struggling with energy bills payments to empowering individuals to take action, such as switching suppliers, signing up for new grants and schemes, and providing homeowners with the knowledge and advice they need to make their homes more energy-efficient.
We will be at The Sight for Surrey Drop-In Coffee Mornings to give out any energy advice that you may need.
