Most of our work is driving clients to medical appointments at local hospitals, GP surgeries and dentists as well as giving lifts to hairdressers and local shops.

Our scheme covers:

We offer clients help with:

• Transport to local hospitals, GP surgeries and dentists

• Lifts to hairdressers and shops

• Doing shopping or collecting prescriptions

• Friendly, supportive home visits

• Giving information about local services

New clients will need to complete an assessment before making a request.  To register or make a request, call the helpline and leave a message – someone will respond to you within 24 hours. Volunteers give their time for free but can claim a mileage allowance. The type, time and amount of help you give is up to you.  Our clients usually give a small donation for the help they receive.  We need volunteer drivers and duty officers to answer Helpline calls in their own home on weekdays between 10.00-12.00 noon.

Our friendly volunteer drivers use their own cars to transport clients to essential destinations. All have DBS certificates enhanced for vulnerable adults.

No charge is made for our help, but a donation to cover fuel costs is appreciated.

New volunteer drivers and duty officers to answer the phone and arrange journeys are welcomed with open arms!

Our scheme covers Byfleet and West Byfleet. We offer help with:

• Transport to doctors, dentist, hospitals, opticians, vaccination centres, therapists etc.

• Transport to the hairdressers or to visit St Mary’s Community Centre or to see friends within the local area

• Shopping – we can shop from a list for you or we can take you to the shops or a garden centre

Our Volunteers are available to help local residents in times of need. The scheme aims to provide practical help to those in need 7 days a week. We will try to link those with a little time to spare with those who need and ask for help. We aim to fill the gaps left by existing services and not to replace them. Our volunteers are men and women of all ages and abilities who give their time freely but at times of their own choosing. Shamley Green Village Care is a volunteer-run, community transport scheme, which provides assistance to any resident of Shamley Green parish who is unable to drive themselves or to use public transport easily. Volunteers help Shamley Green residents get to doctor’s or hospital appointments, as well as assisting with transport to shops and other local services. //Please only call the supplied number between: 9.00am-5.00pm only//

We are good neighbours scheme offering transport to surgeries, clinics and dentists. We can also run local errands such as prescription collection. We provide transport for those living within Milford and Witley. Anyone can use the service so long as only minimal assistance is required getting in and out of the car. The area covered is local plus Milford & Haslemere Hospitals. Only those who cannot use public transport or have any other means can use the service. Our volunteers are DBS checked and give their time freely. We were established in the mid 90’s by local churches and community nurses.

A voluntary organisation providing practical assistance to people living in Elstead in Surrey who need help in their daily lives and who do not have access to other resources. We offer support in all sorts of ways to those without access to other resources. Our service is available to those living within 2 miles of the village green. A volunteer-run car scheme, providing transport for residents in the Hambledon area who would otherwise be unable to access local services. Originally set up by Georgina Aylward, Sarah King and a few other community-minded volunteers, the Scheme was re- launched in June 2023 to expand both its volunteer base and the number of Villagers it assists and to make it compliant with up to date requirements for schemes of this kind. Run by a small band of Hambledonians, HGNS is there to help local residents and is essentially a community car scheme for those in need. HGNS volunteer Mary Grove says “the scheme is really to fill the gap in local public transport for those who live in Hambledon who don’t drive and would otherwise find it difficult to get to medical appointments. Having local drivers who you know and can rely on means one less worry.” Volunteers use their own cars to take Hambledon residents to any medical appointment (within 15 mile radius). The charge for each journey is a voluntary donation.

A volunteer-run car scheme, providing transport for residents in the Godalming area, including Ockford Ridge, Cattershall and Busbridge, who would otherwise be unable to access local services. Volunteers use their own cars to take Godalming residents to local doctor’s and dental appointments, pharmacies and the Post Office. The charge for each journey is a voluntary donation. The scheme offers community based support for people who need help with some of the basics of day-to-day living or who may not have easy access to transport in Godalming. We need people to join us volunteers so get in touch.
