Find a Good Neighbour

Farncombe and Binscombe Good Neighbours is a volunteer-run, community transport service, covering the areas of Farncombe and Binscombe. Volunteers offer help to vulnerable members of the Farncombe and Binscombe community, by providing transport to doctors’ surgeries, hospitals and other destinations. Elderly, disabled or other residents in need of affordable transport, are eligible for this service. As well as drivers for our essential service to the community, we would love to hear from anyone in Farncombe who would be willing to answer a mobile phone for a couple of hours on one day.

EWCARE is a Good Neighbours scheme for Ewhurst and Ellen’s Green residents, putting individuals who require  non-specialist help with volunteers willing to provide that help for a small donation. EWCARE can arrange to medical and hospital appointments. Volunteers may also be available to assist with shopping, light gardening, small household repairs or simply to call by for a chat.

We are a Good Neighbours community transport scheme for Cranleigh residents, who would otherwise have difficulty attending necessary medical appointments. Volunteers use their own cars to transport clients to hospitals and doctor’s surgeries around the Cranleigh area. //Please only call the supplied number between: 10.00am-12.00pm only//

Chiddingfold’s Good Neighbours’ Scheme is an existing network of nearly 100 Good Neighbours covering every house in the Parish. These Good Neighbours welcome newcomers to the village, provide a first point of contact for all residents and can advise on what help is available and where to get it. Alongside this existing support network, a central database is being maintained of over 80 additional local people who have volunteered to offer help to those residents in need of assistance during the pandemic. The sort of assistance that is offered includes help with shopping, picking up pre-ordered shopping, picking up prescriptions from the doctor or chemist, running errands, walking your dogs, chats on the phone, lawn mowing, essential gardening and other essential assistance, possibly including emergency house repairs. Car-Go! is a community transport scheme to enable those people in Chiddingfold and surrounding areas, for whom the existing means of transport are inaccessible or inappropriate to have access to a low cost transport scheme that will take them to and from doctors, hospitals and other essential appointments. It will provide a flexible time, door-to-door service. We are always looking for more Drivers and Duty Officers. If you are interested in supporting your community by joining us, then please ring the number below for more details. We need you!

A volunteer-run car scheme, providing transport for residents in the Bramley area who would otherwise be unable to access local services. Volunteers use their own cars to take Bramley residents to local doctor’s and dental appointments, pharmacies and the Post Office. The charge for each journey is a voluntary donation.

Over the years, a number of residents have volunteered to act as the contact in their road in case anyone needs help, for example an elderly person who may be unable to leave the house and may need some shopping, or someone to stay with a person in need whilst help is on the way. The reality is that we are rarely called upon, but we don’t want people to struggle alone when there are those willing to help. If you are aware of a neighbour who is in difficulty and think they may need help please contact us. Are you willing to offer yourself (and car) as an occasional volunteer driver? If so please call us. You would probably only be called upon a few times a year.  

Tatsfield Helpline arranges a volunteer driver for any resident of Tatsfield, who is in need of transport to attend medical appointments or to collect prescriptions. The group is urgently in need of more volunteers – please get in touch if you can help.
